Great work Jeff! I thought you did a great job with GarageGames, and hope your success follows its way through into your new venture. :)

Got a smile on my face again and having way too much fun and I think the rest of the crew would agree they are feeling the same. Cool stuff to be released soon!
  • Ben Garney · 1 year ago
Rick, you've got it exactly. :)
  • timaste · 1 year ago
Same! I've been having a blast lately. So far we have been living up to the mission statement. Lots of cool stuff and lots of fun!
  • Sean Sullivan · 1 year ago
Yeah we're having a great time cranking on this stuff. Can't wait to show the world!

But will you be using Torque? :)

Congrats you guys. I'm expecting great things!
  • Rickoman · 1 year ago
Torque? It's a secret for a few more weeks... but there is a link to http://pushbuttonengine.com wonder what that is?
  • Jeff Tunnell · 1 year ago
We want to make the kind of games that can reach a huge world-wide non-hard core audience with very little download or technical knowledge. Torque is not set up for that kind of game. Of course, if we were going to make a traditional game for the traditional hard core audience, we would use Torque. It is a great choice, and we are extremely familiar with it. As Rick eludes to below, we are creating a new game engine called the Push Button Engine, but we are not ready to announce what it will be yet.

Tim just posted some cool insight into the design of the PBL site, and other tidbits of information at his Subreal blog: http://www.subreal.net/2008/11/05/push-button-l...

I thought this is what you were gunning for a few years back. I'm guessing it will be a game engine we can use in our web browsers, anywhere, anytime, with anyone.
  • Josh_Engebretson · 1 year ago
Oh man, you just had to put the words "Open Source" on the site's text :) It must be nice to get a fresh start... and I'm really interested in seeing what you guys have cooking!!! I love the little guy running across the hills :) I'm curious how much Flash 10's hardware accel is figuring into your plans? Rock on guys!!!
  • joshuadallman · 1 year ago
    Two words: HELL YEAH!!!!!

OK I'll expand. Way to go guys, I can't wait to see the reaction to the official unveiling. Site looks great and http://pushbuttonlabs.com/about/ looks like a pro-bowl game with the historic best players in the league. Rock on, with guitars and all.

Open source and Flash. Does that mean you're using/targeting Gnash?

    http://www.gnu.org/software/gnash/
  • Jeff Tunnell · 1 year ago
We are not supporting Gnash. We are not ready to reveal what we are doing, but when we are, you all will be the first to know!
