This video to some point is scary but at the same time this actually just empowered me! I'm about to enter computer science in the fall (A BS in theory) and from what I have been hearing from programmers is that it the internet is kinda plateauing in a way but obviously these numbers speak other wise. I have always loved computers and this gets me very excited! This means that I will have some great odd's at succeeding with creating my own solo start-up in college! (I'm a programmer by the way) and like I said these numbers make me very happy to see the number of new markets growing that have yet to be picked over by large corporations. I need to stop writing this blog comment and start creating for these markets haha. Thanks a lot for sharing this video. Really brings more hope to my future plans and I hope to see more blog posts from you! I actually first heard about you from a youtube video with you speaking at some game dev. conference and I remember learning a thing or two from you. Glade I stumbledupon your blog!

Re: The World Is Changing… How Will You Fit In?

Wow, there are some major-league junk statistics in there. "The 25% of India's population with the highest IQ's is greater than the total population of the US"? This just in also - 25% of 5 is greater than 1.

Re: The World Is Changing… How Will You Fit In?

Equal parts inspired, terrified, and boggled, all on several different levels.

We're truly living in interesting times. Whether the chinese were on to something when they considered that a curse is soon to be seen. Fantastic opportunities for those with the wits and skills to take advantage of them, and also an indication of just how huge this world is becoming... and how fast it's growing. Exponential times, indeed...

Re: The World Is Changing… How Will You Fit In?

Very interesting. Kind of creepy, too.

Is probably time to stop. All that technology, and still the worst moment of the human race in its entire history.

And, 700.000 downloaded songs in 5 minutes? Even for the most hardcore copyright defender will agree that the current law is "out of order" by now.

Time for deep changes in mind, rather than chips.

Re: The World Is Changing… How Will You Fit In?

A great 5 minute version of "The Singularity is Near". As much as I love computation it doesn't fill me with warm fuzzies thinking about what we're creating.

Re: The World Is Changing… How Will You Fit In?

Saw this video a while back. It's definitely inspiring, and not only because it means you can reach an audience quickly, but because it shows how quickly people can be reached in general.

Positive change - environmentally, politically, etc - can be made so quickly these days, all we need are those reached to be willing.

Re: The World Is Changing… How Will You Fit In?

Nice video.
